I'm planning on doing a tune up on my truck because i'm not satified with how its performing lately. Heres what I plan to do:

Plugs - NGK V-Power ZFR6F11G
Tires - Wrangler silentarmor
Brakes - having a shop do that, don't feel like messing with the drum brakes.
Coolant System - Truck has been overheating lately mostly at idle, I think this is due to the clutch fan.
edit: I've done two things to test my fan, one I tryed pushing it with my hand, spins very freely. Other thing I tryed was I shut the truck off and watched to see how long it took for it to stop spinning. It took about 5 seconds after the belt stopped.

Any other recommendations would be helpful. I was thinking about getting the sensors on the throttle body looked at and the vaccum lines because my idle tends to move like there is a small leak.

I also wanted to take off my throttle body and clean it completely, but I don't know where to get the gasket at, I couldn't find anything at summit racing and last time I checked you can't reuse it, but what do I know.

well so far I had the tires installed which I like alot. If you have wrangler rt/s, these tires hook up better and give a little bit better ride. I could have gone with the fortera street tires, but it wouldn't be a truck without at least semi-aggressive tires.

A note on my idle, its always been kinda rough. The needle moves more then the truck actually feels rough. its usually between 500-650rpm. A lot of people have complained about it and the dealership told me twice that these engines idle rough naturally but I don't believe that. Hows the idle on your trucks?

my 03 dakota Idles low. I have dodge lookign in to this as the dealership i took it to said it was low and acted like it shouldnt be that low. so I have to call dodge and see what they came up with. but if your idle fluxuates might want to clean the TB first and clean the IAC of all the carbon built up on it. when cleaning the IAC dont twist the plunger thats in it or push it all the way in. as I was told yo ucan damage it. I reused my gasket on my TB as it looked fine. but auto zone or advance auto should have the gaskets.

TB uses a rubber 'o-ring' type of gasket that is in the manifold. Comepletely reuseable. When you tighten the TB, just go till its tight, it will crush the seal and work perfect. Much of this engine is designed that way so it is easier to assemble and to eliminate unneeded stock of gaskets.

Be sure to clean the TB out well and wipe the IAC motor off getly with a rag and some cleaner.

reusable gasket for t-body

i concur with caulk-man

the t-body gasket is reusable. i've changed a intake manifold on my 2000 dakota back and forth three times and had the t-body off not only for those three times but when i changed over to a fastman t-body. it is a reusable gasket, er i mean o-ring style gasket

you can reuse an o ring gasket so many times. I am sure he can reuse it. I have when I took mine off. but they dont last forever. I guess I was saying that he could get them at auto zone and not have to go to the dealership.
